Make sure to catch us this weekend at at least one of these two events!

    This Friday – 4/19

House Party @ Bottom Shelf Lounge
4115 Loyola Ave. (right off of Napoleon)
    – NO Cover, 1$ Drinks –
Something Burning plays an acoustic set @ 11pm, come start gettin’ drunk at 10!

    This Saturday – 4/20 – Starting @ 8pm

Uptown Sounds Festival – Taking over Freret St. –
Music, Art, and Drinks at 3 venues: Gasa Gasa, Dat Dog, The Other Bar
Something Burning is playing an Acoustic Set at Dat Dog @ 9PM
We really start at 9, because Dat Dog closes around 10.

Come out to this awesome establishment this Saturday and have an the most amazing customized hot dog, sausage, or bratwurst you could ever ask for, grab a beer, and just relax and listen to the softer side of Something Burning. If you have never been to Dat Dog, that’s really tragic and you should really come experience it this Saturday. If you have been to Dat Dog, then you know that it is the shit. Where would you honestly rather be on 4/20? There isn’t a better time and place for you to come listen to SB’s acoustic vibes, so come on out (if you haven’t passed out already at that point).

Thanks again to Frank Maggiore for taking some more awesome pictures of Dan and Casey busking in the Quarter this week!

Check out his flickr at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fegbm/

Dan (our cellist/guitarist) goes out to play music on Royal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter almost every Sunday afternoon with clarinetist/saxophonist Casey Wilkes. Something Burning’s sax/guitar player, PJ, often joins Dan and Casey, but he hasn’t made it out in a few weeks. When we go out on the street, we play all types music, ranging from classical (Dan often whips out the good old Bach Cello Suites), to jazz standards and bossa novas, to original, funky, Something Burning Style acoustic jam tunes. Basically, if you come out to see us play on the street on a Sunny Sunday afternoon, you never know what you’re gonna hear.

Frank Maggiore has caught us playing on Royal St good amount now, and this is the second batch of great pictures that he has taken of us. Hope you enjoy these pics as much as we do, and keep an eye out for more in weeks to come.
